What We Do with Site Usage Data
For site management, the Spring Valley Estates Webmaster maintains an operational log of site user addresses. This log is used to generate site usage statistics, to track operational problems, and to investigate suspected unauthorized activities.
Except for authorized law enforcement investigations and the gathering of site usage statistics, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with generally accepted guidelines.
Privacy
Never provide your password, telephone numbers, or home address to anyone online. Never divulge private information about another person online. That includes the person's real name, e-mail address, and any other personal information that the person has not made public. Don't forward or post private messages that someone has sent you unless you have his or her permission. Please don't solicit other people's personal information.
Unacceptable Language
Please don't post anything obscene, vulgar, illegal (including viruses), harmful, insulting, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, untrue, or invasive of someone else's privacy. We won't tolerate hateful communications — especially those targeting race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, weight, or disability. Using misspellings or asterisks or other symbols instead of the actual letters in an offensive word is not okay if most people can still tell what you're saying.
Personal Attacks
Do not attack other members of the community. A personal attack might include name-calling, mocking another member or a member's name or family members, using threatening or insulting language, or violating another member's privacy. Exercise some common sense here. If you wouldn't have the nerve to say it in person, don't post it. If you can't draw the line, we'll draw it for you, but we'd rather not have to. You're free to discuss your personal views. Posts that constitute personal attacks will be deleted.
Message Board/Community Forum
The message board is used for general community concerns, interests, or topics of discussion that are in keeping with the guidelines posted here. All posts made are instantly forwarded to the Spring Valley Estates webmaster. Any posts that appear to be inappropriate will be immediately removed.
